Nickel-cobalt separation extractants
Extractants for nickel and cobalt separation from sulphate and chloride liquors, laterite leach solutions and battery recycling streams.
Separation order and pH window depend on the Ni:Co ratio, impurity profile and the downstream sulphate or chloride route.

P204
Di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA / HDEHP)
Phosphoric acid ester extractant used as the first impurity-removal step in laterite nickel ore circuits.

P507
2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester
Non-ferrous metal extractant for copper, zinc, cobalt-nickel, cadmium, gold-silver, platinum group metals and rare earths.

DY272
Bis(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid
Nickel cobalt separation extractant that takes cobalt out of the nickel-cobalt solution and leaves a pure nickel raffinate.

DY377
Diglycidyl bisamide acidic metal extractant
Efficient separation extractant for nickel and diamond streams.

Where the reagent sits in the circuit
01
Impurity removal
P204 is applied at the front of laterite flowsheets to take iron and other impurities out before the split.
02
Nickel-cobalt split
DY272 loads cobalt and leaves a nickel raffinate; P507 covers the wider non-ferrous separations.
03
Scrub and strip
Scrub stages control entrained impurities; stripping produces separate nickel and cobalt strip liquors.

Questions
Before you specify
What information do you need to recommend a reagent?
The feed assay (metal tenor and main impurities), acidity, the stage where the reagent will work, and the target strip liquor or product specification. A flowsheet sketch helps but is not required for a first recommendation.
Can one model cover several metals?
Some phosphoric ester and phosphinic acid reagents work across nickel, cobalt, vanadium and rare earth circuits, but the loading window is set per application. A model that suits one separation may need a different acidity or modifier in another.
How are samples shipped?
Sample quantity and packing are agreed against the trial scope, then shipped with handling information. Documentation follows the destination country and the carrier requirements.
Send your feed data
Include the nickel-cobalt tenor, acidity and the main competing ions. A model recommendation follows from those values.
