DY984N extractant

2-hydroxy-5-nonylsalicylaldehyde oxime and 2-hydroxy-5-nonyl ketoxime blend

CAS 50849-47-3 / 59344-62-6

DY984N is an aldoxime–ketoxime blend for copper solvent extraction: 25% aldoxime, 25% ketoxime and 50% solvent oil, with a concentrate grade DY984N-C at 35/35/30. The blend loads and strips in the same circuit, avoids third-phase formation and reaches a copper net transfer of 3.4 g/L with a Cu/Fe selectivity of 2279 or better.

  • 3.4 g/L net transfer
  • ≥92% extraction in 30 s
  • Cu/Fe selectivity ≥2279
  • No third phase

Typical use

Copper SX–EW circuits treating heap, dump or concentrate leach solutions, including plants that need a drop-in reagent comparable with an existing organic.

  • 01Specify the circuit from the copper tenor, acidity and chloride level of the pregnant leach solution.
  • 02The concentrate grade is used where higher copper transfer per unit organic volume is required.
  • 03Plant consumption is around 2 kg of reagent per tonne of copper cathode in operating references.
